Regulator

Central Bank of Ireland – for financial institutions and service providers and authorized by ECB for supervision of banks.

European Central Bank – ECB is the head bank regulator in the EU, but it may act indirectly, through the national Central Bank.

Ministry of Justice and Equality – for trust and corporate service providers.

Legislation

EU banking (Basel III, CRD IV), financial (PSD2, PSR, EMR) and AML (4th AML Directive) legislation. National AML legislation consists of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act.

FIU

A part of Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) is responsible with receiving suspicious (unusual) transactions reports.
